14 Days of Fasting and Prayer
Arise and Shine
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:1
The fast begins in
Get up and shine, because His glory has already risen
The year is closing. Many of us are tired, some are discouraged, and some are carrying burdens they have not told anyone about. Isaiah 60 was written to a people in that condition. Darkness covered the earth, yet God commanded His people to get up and shine, because His glory had already risen upon them.
For fourteen days, Saturday 5 to Friday 18 December, Spring of Life sets itself apart as one body to seek God's face, deal with sin, repair our altars, receive healing, and enter 2027 with clear direction and fresh fire.
- To humble ourselves before God in repentance and consecration (2 Chronicles 7:14).
- To break the power of fear, sickness, oppression and stagnation over members and families.
- To intercede for the ministry's arms: the local assemblies, Grace Spring Mission Hospital, Spring TV, Tech Spring Ghana and our evangelism and medical outreach.
- To pray for Ghana, her leaders and her churches.
- To receive the Lord's word and direction for 2027.

For members who cannot go without food, students, and those in physically demanding workPartial fast
Skip one or two meals a day.
For nursing mothers, the elderly, and those under medical careFast safely
Guidance from the medical team of Grace Spring Mission Hospital.
- See your doctor first if you are pregnant, diabetic, hypertensive, on daily medication, or recovering from illness. Keep a partial or Daniel fast only. Hospital staff are available after each evening service to advise anyone who is unsure.
- Never stop or delay your medication (blood pressure, diabetes, epilepsy, HIV, tuberculosis, thyroid or any chronic condition). Take it as prescribed, with food if required.
- Drink water. Even on a water fast, take at least two litres between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM, and drink a glass of water before eating.
- Break the fast gently. Start with water, then fruit or a light soup, then a normal meal after thirty minutes. Avoid heavy, oily or very sugary food.
- Stop if you feel unwell. Dizziness, fainting, palpitations, severe headache, confusion or vomiting mean the fast must be broken immediately and a nurse or doctor informed.
- Pregnant and nursing mothers should not fast from food; they may give up particular foods or entertainment and join fully in the prayers.
- Children under twelve do not fast from food; they can give up television, games or sweets. Members over seventy should keep a partial fast.
- Heavy work, long-distance driving or machinery: keep a Daniel or partial fast for safety.
During the fourteen days, set aside television entertainment, social media scrolling and secular music, and spend that time in the Word and in prayer. Read at least one chapter of the Bible every day, starting with the day's key text.
